A Lauren Day

Today I joined Lauren for a day that centered around things she likes.  Of course, that works well for me because we do like simliar things.  Oh, and Ramie came, too. :)

After an early-morning coffee stop, we headed out to Pasadena to meet up with Lauren’s dad.  We had breakfast at an adorable little restaurant, where we sat on the porch of what looked like a great old cottage.  And my food was delicious, as well!  And then we walked all around.  It was a gorgeous morning, so it was nice to be out and about.

Next up, we went to Pomona because Lauren had to take care of an errand there today for her visa.

And then we drove all the way to La Jolla because our original plan for the day was to go to San Diego.  We stopped at the Salk Institute to check out the building, which was done by a famous architect.  Lauren loves buildings.  :)  And then we went to Torrey Pines Golf Course.  Lauren also loves golf.  We strolled around there a bit because it was really pretty.  And then we had an early, lite dinner at the resaturant there.  We sat outside overlooking the golf course on a gorgeous afternoon.  It was lovely.

And tonight, I met up with a bunch of friends for frozen yogurt from my favorite place, Velvet Yogurt, and then a stroll down to the pier.  The weather tonight was absolutely perfect.  I love summer.

Well I managed to keep myself busy for another day but it was a bit more mellow. Work was good. I got some stuff done and the left a little early after discovering I was one of only two people left in the office. And I had fun girls dinner with Lauren, Gigi, and Ramie in Irvine. And then it was a quick trip to Target and Starbucks before heading home for the night. I gave myself a manicure and watched this week’s SYTYCD and just relaxed. So nice. :)

I did also upload lots of photos from last month’s roadtrip home with a bunch (7) of my friends from here. They’re on Flickr now for you, but I’m admittedly still in the middle of getting them all labeled well. :)

And I have a fairly busy weekend ahead of me, it seems, but I’m excited about it. I’ll report more soon. :)

apparently, i really do only eat breakfast.

i took some time for myself this morning, a treat i never afford myself.  so i made it to work around noon.  and was immediately informed that the whole company was going out at 3 for happy hour.  awesome.  haha!  so i worked a bit and then hung out in the sunshine at sundried tomato cafe in talega, taking in the view and enjoying a little food.  awesome.

and then i went over to starbucks and worked on today’s crossword a while.  i’m getting better.  i got about 80% through a thursday puzzle today, and last week as well.  that’s good stuff.  and just fun for me.

emmaus was great.  as usual.  and then i went with some friends to corky’s for my first true meal of the day, breakfast.  quite good, especially considering we were in a diner.

and now i’m just hanging out.  i should be alseep.  i am not.  but soon. :)

Breakfast.

Some days are filled with more breakfast than others. I like those days a lot. :)

There was that banana this morning at my desk while Marke and I chatted. I have my own office now so we have little chats in there. He has a chair next to the huge window.

And there was the awesome bacon and eggs I ordered at a little cafe across the street from the beach in San Clemente at lunchtime. I will definitely be back at that place again soon.

And then there was breakfast with Nate at like 10:30pm. I went with him to his English/Composition class for fun. It was actually a really good time. It made me want to write and read more. Anyway, after that we cooked french toast. And by “we” I mean “he.” and we hung out and such.

It was a good day. With good food. :)

Well, I’m going to try to get back to updating again. Probably shorter entries. Hopefully often.

So anyway, things have been good around here lately. Really good. I never sleep anymore because I stay up way, way too late all the time with me friends. It’s so fun. :)

Last night, for instance, I went to women’s study and then went over to Nate’s house for tea and shortbread and talking all night. And tonight was another Tuesday night dinner at my place. And we had a huge turnout for Hanssel’s spaghetti.

And now I’m off to bed. More soon, I really hope.
