“got the radio on, my old blue jeans
and i’m wearing my heart on my sleeve
feeling lucky today, got the sunshine
could you tell me what more do i need
and tomorrow’s just a mystery, oh yeah
but that’s okay” — taylor swift “a place in this world”
wow! it’s been quite a while since i’ve last written. i promise i’ve been very, very busy. and now i’m just relaxing at home, so i have a few minutes to make sure you get caught up on everything. :) i’ll try to keep this orderly. ;)
first of all, i’ve been working a lot lately. or just really hard. things there are busy, i have some new responsibilities, and it’s all fun but a lot. also, we have two new girls who started monday. they’re called sandra and michelle, and they’re both going to work on producing our trade shows. they both seem nice.
and speaking of work, i made my first ever real business trip. yes, i’ve gone to conferences and to meet our big printer, but this was different. it was meeting a client. our biggest client. anyway, tuesday night after work, i headed up to oregon (the portland area; wilsonville, specifically) with lauren, cindy, and sandra. we met up with sally, who lives in portland but works for rtc, for dinner at macaroni grill. always delicious. then we made our way to our hotel room for the night. and then wedesnday morning, arrived at our client’s offices at 9am. and we were there until 5, except for a lunch out with them. and we learned a lot about our upcoming new project, so that was good. even i still have a lot more to learn about my part, specifically. anyway, it all went well, and i didn’t mess anything up or anything like that. :) and i was back home at 11pm wednesday night.but i’ve been having some of my own fun lately, as well. :) thursday after work, i raced up to la to pick up adam at ucla. then we had a delicious dinner at his local chipotle before heading to the wilshire theatre in beverly hills. we had tickets to see one of my very favorite current performers, taylor swift! we had great seats in the front row of the mezzanine but on the side, where it was just those two seats. like in a theatre. i’m sure there’s a name for that. anyway, we had awesome seats! and the surprise (at least to me) opening act was teddy geiger, who i like. he was good, especially with his all-strings band: fiddles, cello, guitars, him sometimes on keyboard, as well. anyway, he was good! and i’m glad i got to see him live! anyway, then it was time for miss taylor! she was so great! i wasn’t sure how she’d compare live to her recorded album, which i love dearly. but anyway, she was incredible! so much better live! and that’s quite a feat! so anyway, i had a wonderful time through the whole show. she played about an hour and 45 minutes. and afterwards, she took photos and signed autographs for anyone willing to wait in line. adam and i were near the back of the line and ended up waiting just under 2 hours to meet her, but i totally think it was worth it! she was so nice and giving everyone hugs and just wonderful! love love love it! and i got home at 2am, pleased with an awesome night!

check out all the photos from the show on flickr!
and last night, i was tired but had an invite to the movies, so i went with katrina, marke, and marke’s friend matt to see “cloverfield.” well, i really liked the story and the idea of how to tell it. on the other hand, the intentionally shaky camera work was over-the-top. the guy would have had to have been the worst cameraman ever to move the camera that much. and i was getting really nauseous. i can’t ever watch the movie again because i know now what it does to me. and i wasn’t alone. marke had to leave for a bit. and he saw somone else throwing up in the hallway when he left. so anyway, cool story but it made me very physically sick.
and tonight i’m enjoying “air guitar nation.” it’s a documentary about the world air guitar championships. so fun! :) definitely not making me sick. ;) and i would recommend it to just about anyone.
so that’s enough out of me for right now. i’ll be back soon. :)
