“little beads of light were dancin’ off the wall
reflecting off the spinning crystal ball
in a dance hall down in texas where time slowed to a crawl
baby, it’s just you holdin’ on to me in the middle of it all” — chris young “center of my world”

whoa. and breathe. i swear i feel like i’m going a hundred miles an hour constantly. there’s a light at the end of the tunnel, however. it’s the weekend, and it’s only 2 days away, thank goodness! :) anyway, it was yet another crazy day, which had it’s highlights. hopefully, i’ll be able to focus on those as i write tonight.

i set the alarm for a few minutes earlier than normal this morning and got up with it still feeling pretty tired but knowing i needed to get my day started. i got cleaned up and dressed pretty quickly, and then i headed out. i went, once again, up to laguna hills to the volvo shop. they forgot a bulb in my center console yesterday. well, it was going to require a lot of labor, so it will have to wait for another day. so i headed to work and i was going to make it there on time until i saw a police cruiser pull out onto the freeway with the sirens going. he was doing that thing where they cut back and forth across all the lanes of traffic really slowly so another car can retrieve something off the roadway ahead. anyway, i didn’t even know they did this until i moved to orange county and now i seem to find myself stuck in the mess once every few months. weird. whatever. another strange orange county thing: the emergency sirens testing, which happened today but which i did not hear (sadly).

okay, so work. work’s crazy busy. we’ve got two magazines in the works right now, along with all the media kits and all the normal sorts of things that just come up all the time. it’s a lot. believe me. so i really did spend the whole day working my cute little butt off trying to get as much as humanly possible done. and i know i did make some serious progress. and i did stop long enough to pick up a take-away lunch from stillwater cafe. and so the magazine needed to get to the ups store by 5:30, so i had to leave the office by 5:15. that sort of cut my workday short and changed my plans, but no big deal.

so after dropping off our package, i headed toward the gym. but i decided i wanted to do something else with my evening. so instead, i went to the bookstore to browse for some real literature (not my usual pink-covered books), and actually i found some interesting stuff, so that was totally a success. :) and then i went to ralph’s because it’s right there and there was seriously zero food in my apartment. so i found lots of stuff there, which was good. though the cashier/bagger was totally incompetent. anyway, then i decided that i wanted to finally try fatburger. it’s right there, too, and i had been meaning to try it for a long time now. so i ordered a take-away dinner and headed towards home. wow. i’m impressed! it was a bit on the expensive side, but my chicken sandwich was awesome! :) this could be the beginning of a very bad habit. ;)

and tonight, i’ve just been hanging out since i got home (which actually wasn’t all that long ago). dad told me i needed to get some serious sleep tonight, so i’m going to make an effort to get to bed soon. i know i need the rest. i have lots more ahead of me before saturday. so i’ll let you know how it goes next time. and for now, g’night. ;)
