wow. it’s like i have a night that’s free! i have no actual commitments or things to be doing at this moment (other than try desperately to get to bed early because i’m quite tired). it’s kind of weird. it won’t last long. it’s back to the madness on wednesday. but for now, i’m enjoying a little time to just be with me. :) not that it hasn’t been wonderful, because it has!

i had trouble falling asleep last night, and i definitely blame it on the diet coke i had at benihana last night. it’s not something i’m really drinking these days and the caffeine does effect me. anyway, i did eventually fall asleep but too late for me to get enough rest last night before a very busy monday. the alarm went off very early this morning, and i had to hit the shower immediately. and then i got dressed and ready and everything and had a few minutes to check email before heading out for the day.

alright, so the day had a bit of a rocky start. i hit every red light possible between here and san clemente. and i was going to my 8am dentist appointment, so that made it even worse. but i made it there fine and was greeted by an absolutely wonderful staff. i was thoroughly impressed with the entire visit, actually, and that’s not something i often say about a visit to the dentist. but really, it was great. and i had been very anxious about going because it’s a new dentist for me and that could have turned out horribly, i know. and they did actual dental work on me today, which i wasn’t sure was actually happening today. i’m glad it did. so yeah, the dentist was as good as the dentist can be. :)

then i headed up the road to work. work felt busier than it actually was today because the melissa and jenna were working on getting a big project out the door this morning. but i was just making sure my section of the latest magazine was all together and right and everything, so i had work to do but wasn’t at all overwhelmed. and i also took care of my expense report from the vegas trip. i was sixteen cents over the cash they gave me before the trip. that’s excellent! i’m so good! ;) and the afternoon was full of more work, including getting the magazine off to the printer. so lots of stuff did get done today!

for lunch, diana, lea, and i headed up to my apartment to pick up sarah and then the four of us went to baja fresh. it’s very close to where i live. anyway, we had a delicious lunch, and lea and diana were both on today so hanging out with them was fun because they were non-stop chatty but it was also exhausting. but i had fun, and i think sarah did, too! :) then sarah came back to the office with us, i showed her how to get to some fun places on a map, and i turned her loose with my car while i worked all afternoon. and then she picked me up after work.

sarah and i headed back to my apartment so she could pack up all her stuff. she might have bought more stuff than she could pack this weekend, but we made it all fit with the help of a shopping bag. :) haha! oh, this is a huge sign we really did have an excellent weekend! anyway, then we headed to mangia bene for some dinner. it was a beautiful night out and we even got to eat our dinner outside. i love that! and my gnocchi was so great! and sarah liked that place, too. it’s a for sure winner. and then, sadly, it was time to take sarah to the airport. so we headed up to long beach and she was on her way. hopefully, i’ll see her again soon now that she’s back in california permanently. :) we had a wonderful time together!

and i’ve just been hanging out here since i got back home. i talked to the family for awhile, which was really nice. i miss them! but i’ll see them wednesday. oh, i also talked to katie briefly today. her wedding is this weekend, so she’s freaking out a little bit. but it’ll be great! she’ll be great! :) and i have my fingers crossed that i’ll get to drive her little scion tc around a little bit this weekend! ;)

so i’m going to try to get tucked in early tonight. i’ll be back tomorrow. for now, g’night. ;)
